Many researchers have Nicholas Bailey (b. abt. 1620) as son of Nicholas Bailey born about 1600 in England and that Nicholas as son of Nicholas born about 1580 in England. I've tried to find proof of the three Nicholas Bailey men but so far I haven't. Information listed for Generations 1 & 2 was found on Ancestry.com. The majority of Family Trees on that site have these two Nicholas Baileys listed so I have included them here.
The Bailey name has some variations in spelling before the 19th century. I've seen the name spelled as Baly, Baillee, Baily and Bayley.

The following was found on Ancestry.com - "Johnson & Stone Ancestry" - Michael & Betsy Johnson
He's probably the "Nick Baly" who took the oath of fidelity at New Haven, Conn. July 1, 1644. He and his wife Margaret were living in Westchester before Aug. 4, 1659. He was a magistrate in 1660 and 1662. He received land in the second division in 1666 and is listed a patentee Jan. 1, 1686. On Mar. 4, 1689 he deeded to his son Nathan his holdings in the Long Beach Patent in Eastchester, and on March 5th he and his wife deeded their house and all land in Westchester to James and Abiah Riley of Queens County, in return for a bond of the latter to care for them during their life time. Witnesses for this deed were his younger cousins Elias and Jonathan Bailey, sons of John Bailey of Jamaica, RI. On Sept. 25th James and Abiah surrendered the deed and on Oct. 19th the property was deeded to John (their son) "he to keep and maintain said father and mother during life". Nicholas died before 1698 when his widow was living with her son, John.
They lived in New Haven, Connecticut in 1655 and that year they were accused of witchcraft, acquitted and banished. They moved to Westchester County, New York.
