Fred S. Williams

Fred S. Williams, aged 69 years, of 11 Wilbur Street, died Saturday noon, December 20, 1941, in the Greenville Hospital following a short illness.

A son of James and Lide Williams, he was born Oct. 21, 1873, in Greenwood Township, Crawford County. Mr. Williams had been engaged in farming there until about a year ago when he came to Greenville to live with his daughter, Mrs. Harriet Caldwell. Three weeks ago, Mr. Williams' farm was sold to the Keystone Ordnance Company.

Mr. Williams was a member of the Greenwood Free Will Baptist Church.

Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Harry Caldwell, of Greenville; two brothers, Emery Williams of Cambridge Springs and Bruce Williams of Sheakleyville, and two grandsons, Merle Caldwell, who is now in U.S. Army training at Camp Meade, and Earl Caldwell, of Cleveland. Mr. Williams' wife, the late Mrs. Grace Smock Williams, was killed in a wreck on the Geneva crossing several years ago.

Services in charge of Rev. Glover Steele of Greenwood Township were conducted at 2 p.m. today, Dec. 22, in the Graham funeral home, Sheakleyville. Burial was in the Porters Corners Cemetery.
