Hunter Ancestors

On the 1810 census for Nelson County, Kentucky, there are 3 Hunter's living in Bardstown - Eliphalet Hunter, William Hunter and Alexander Hunter. All three are born around the same time so I assume they are probably brothers. Since the state of Kentucky didn't exist until 1792, these men were born in the state of Virginia. But where in Virginia? If they stayed in approximately the same area growing up, then they would have been born in either Fincastle County or Kentucky County, Virginia as these two counties were divided up and ultimately became the state of Kentucky. However, there is an Eliphalet Hunter listed in Virginia Tax Payers, 1782-1787 for Loudoun County, Virginia. (Loudoun County borders present day Maryland.) My gr-gr-gr-grandfather, Eliphalet, would have been too young to have been a tax payer between 1782-1787 so was this his father? If so, then he or his sons moved at some point to Kentucky or a portion of Virginia that became Kentucky. Eliphalet is a name that comes down through the Hunter family but that doesn't mean the Eliphalet in Loudoun County is my direct ancestor. But I must admit that I'm leaning in that direction.

I don't believe ELIZABETH "BETTIE" C. HUNTER and RICHARD had any children.
